dscout has always helped you gather and manage rich data with features like auto-transcription and auto-tagging. We're currently R&Ding a number of new ways to get you to insights faster. And sometimes simple tools can be incredibly powerful.
That's where our new Analysis tab comes in! Now researchers are able to easily view top mentioned words for open-ended questions and video entries in dscout missions.
Inside Analysis, researchers can view and explore a clustered bubble chart for each open-ended question in a mission, whether the response is text, or auto-transcribed video or screen recording. These top words are neatly contained inside a bubble that varies in size depending on the number of times that word was mentioned in a response. Every bubble is also marked by a color that represents the part of speech the word belongs to and you can filter to only see nouns, verbs, adjectives or adverbs.
Analysis and Filtering
A key method for analyzing your qual data is seeing how segments of scouts or entries differ from each other. In dscout, you can filter your entries by closed-ended responses and scout demographics, as well as any tags and scout groups you've created. This means you can easily visualize word usage patterns across segments in the analysis tab (as well as viewing the filtered entries themselves, summary data and geo location in the other tabs).
Getting your charts out of dscout just got a lot easier too! All of the visualizations in the summary and analysis tabs can be exported with the click of a button. Filter and format your word clouds the way you want them and click the download icon to save them locally, complete with question, filter info and n's.
